March 2023, Week Twenty One

Hello my lovelies, I hope you're all doing well? I have been very busy lately so I'm a few weeks behind again on my posts, I apologise. Once I catch up, you'll see why, I've been on a lot of adventures lately and have a LOT of photos to go through. I usually share around ten pictures to a post, but I'm narrowing it down from sometimes hundreds, haha.

Back in March, my 21st week here in beautiful Inishowen was another full one. I saw friends at the beginning of the week, continued with my new classes and coaching calls, and I also soft-launched my new business on Fiverr! I will write a separate post about that later, but it's still in the early stages, so please be patient with me.

Gareth arrived on Saturday and we had a fabulous weekend catching up with each other and going exploring. It was his birthday on St. Patrick's Day, but as we couldn't be together that day, we had belated celebrations this week. Gareth loves animals, so I arranged for us to go to Wild Ireland in Burnfoot. I highly recommend this as a day out for anyone, not just families with young children. There was so much to see, and their commitment to conservation is admirable. You can find out more about Wild Ireland HERE.

After a full afternoon at Wild Ireland, we went for a pint at the Drift Inn, and had dinner at Sherpa, a Nepalese and Indian restaurant, both located in Buncrana. Both places were excellent and we especially loved the pirate vibe of the Drift Inn. It's a place I've driven past so many times, but this was the first chance I got to visit, and I'll definitely be back!

On Sunday evening we met up with several friends at Mac Tams Bar in Clonmany, and got to witness the Inishowen Traditional Singers' Circle perform. That was a truly moving experience, and there were multiple points where I got chills and the hair on my arms stood up. Some songs broke your heart, others made you laugh, most were solos, but some got the whole pub joining in. Hearing an entire room full of people come together in perfect harmony was absolutely magical and quintessentially Irish. I've never witnessed anything quite like it, but the good news is, this is an annual tradition, so they'll be back again next year, yay.
