Hello my lovelies! I hope you are all doing well? It's been a while
since I posted, so once again I am months behind with this Blog, oh
dear. This week back in March was a very full one, with some absolutely
spectacular views, so I knew I wouldn't be able to fit everything in one
post, and decided to split each day of our trip into a separate post.
Which meant more work for me, which meant I procrastinated longer! Since
then I have been on more trips, and taken many more spectacular photos,
so we are back to the usual backlog, haha. I'll try to catch up soon.

Gareth and I usually visit each other towards the end of the month, but
seeing as his birthday is on St. Patrick's Day, we made a change this
time so that he could be in Ireland for his birthday as well as the
usual celebrations. We didn't want to go to Dublin or any of the bigger
cities with the crazy crowds, so I looked for something more remote, and
found the ideal place on Arranmore, which is a small island off the
coast of Donegal.
Gareth traveled over from England on the Wednesday night, and then we
set off on our roadtrip to Burtonport on Thursday morning, stopping to
get snacks and supplies along the way. It was a pretty wet and grey day,
so the scenery wasn't always visible, but we had fun, as we always do
together. We arrived in Burtonport ahead of schedule and had a little
wander before catching the Arranmore Ferry over to the island. The rain
had lifted a little by that point, and we enjoyed a smooth crossing over
the channel to Arranmore. It was obvious that on clear days, the views
would have been even more beautiful!
Once on the island, the mist descended once more, so the views were
definitely limited, but that didn't stop us from going on a road trip
around the whole island to see what we could see. Turns out, not much,
haha! So instead of splendid vistas, I'm sharing a lot of selfies from
that day, but don't worry, my next post will make up for everything,
trust me.
We checked into our accommodation on the island, Hughie Mickey Dan's,
which was very conveniently located near to the Ferry, as well as being
walking distance to several local pubs. After some food, we went to Phil
Bans Pub, which was the perfect cosy spot to hang out for a couple of
hours. Sitting next to an open fire, with the sound of the waves
crashing just a few feet from the windows, with the love of my life
beside me, was the perfect end to the day!
