March 2025, A Brave Face.

Well hello again my loves, I hope you're all having a good week so far? Thank you for the recent feedback on my photos, it is good to know that they bring pleasure to other people. As I have said before though, I don't think I deserve much credit for them! The views are simply that beautiful, and my phone does the rest of the work, haha.

I know I am still very far behind with my life story/this Blog, but with this post I will have caught up to the middle of March this year. Again, there is not much to tell, I was just trying to survive. Once again, I barely left my house during those two weeks. In fact, if it hadn't been for my friends visiting the weekend of the 7th-9th March, I would not have left the house at all. This trip had been planned for some time though, and I didn't want to let them down. It was good to see some friendly faces, and make use of their rental car to do a bit of exploring while they were here. So, all these photos are from that weekend.

Obligatory pints at Farren's Bar.

The Friday night that they arrived we went to the Ballyliffin Townhouse for dinner, and then to McFeeley's in Clonmany for drinks and to check out some live music. The Saturday was a beautiful day, (My friend Peter always seems to bring good weather with him!) so we took advantage of that and went on a bit of a road trip around Inishowen. We drove up to Malin Head and took a walk over the cliffs, before heading to Farren's Bar for some lunch and an obligatory pint. The Rugby was on that day, so there was a big crowd and some great craic.

After lunch we drove to the Bocan Stone Circle near Culdaff and explored a bit, before driving to Kinnagoe Bay and taking a walk on the beach there. You know me, any excuse to walk near the sea, and go treasure hunting for pretty shells and stones. That night we had dinner at mine and played some card games.

The Sunday, I took them for a walk on Pollan Strand and over the cliffs. Once again we were lucky with the weather, and it was another beautiful spring day. After our walk we went to Nancy's Barn and shared their delicious seafood platter for lunch, before they had to head back to the airport.

Other than that weekend, I have very little to tell you. I had been throwing myself into work, trying to distract myself, and just focusing on surviving. Living where I do is such a blessing in so many ways. When I have gone through heartbreak before, I was stuck in places where I didn't belong, which added to the pain and loneliness. At least here in Inishowen, the views help to soothe me, and it feels like home.
