October 2023, Week Forty Nine.

Hello again my lovelies, I hope you're all doing well? I am clearly still catching up with my Blog, but I am slowly getting closer. Once I'm all caught up, the idea is to write one post a week, but we shall see how that goes! ;-)
The first full week in October brought some beautiful rainbows to help cheer me up after Gareth left on the Tuesday morning. There is a reason that rainbows are synonymous with Ireland. People often comment on how much it rains here, in fact, several people mentioned that as a reason NOT to move to Ireland! (Eye roll!)  ... But you can't have rainbows without sunlight as well! I have gotten quite good at recognising the perfect weather conditions for rainbows, so sometimes while I'm holed up in my office working, I can glance out the window, and then suddenly run to the other side of the house, to take photos like these!
I spent most of the week catching up with work after all my visitors, and then getting ready for the weekend celebrations. On the Saturday I traveled to Derry with one of my cousins, and stayed with my Aunt and Uncle, who were hosting a few of us. Another of my cousins, Pól, and his beautiful bride Naomi, had gotten married recently in a quiet ceremony, and then had a large gathering to celebrate with family and friends. I was absolutely honoured to be there, and had so much fun, although I will admit that it was difficult to not drink alcohol! However, the bar staff at the Walled City Brewery were very accommodating, and made me several very tasty mocktails instead. I know I've said it before, but being so much closer to family is one of many reasons why I am so happy to be living here now. It is a joy to celebrate with loved ones on their happy occasions.

End of the night, ended up in a different bar with my cousins! (Still sober.)
