July to August 2024, Cousins and Craic.

Hello my loves, and happy Friday! I hope you have some fun things planned this weekend? I've been quite unwell this week, so I haven't been posting as often as I did last week, but I am gradually catching up with myself, which is a good feeling.
These photos are from a busy week at the end of July and beginning of August this year. On the Monday I walked into Clonmany to go to the Post Office, and then treated myself to a couple of drinks at McFeeley's Bar. It had been a very long time since I'd been there on a Monday evening, and it was good to catch up with some of the locals. On the Wednesday I went to the Ballyliffin Townhouse with three of my cousins for a few drinks, which was a great craic and ended up being a very late night. On the Friday I was down visiting more cousins at their respective shore houses. The summer season is always busy and as much as I love the solitude here most of the year, I do love seeing everyone when they're here.
On the Saturday I was up and out early (for me) and treated myself to another delicious breakfast at Nancy's Barn before catching the bus into Derry. I then walked over the Peace Bridge (a first for me) and went to the Embankment Bar and Grill. One of my cousins and his wife are expecting their first child and I volunteered to go early to help set up their Baby Shower. That was a fun event, and I got to see many family members as we celebrated together. That night I stayed with an aunt and uncle in Derry, had a lovely meal, and watched some of the Olympics, which was fun. I don't usually pay much attention to sports, but I found myself getting engrossed, haha. The next day there was a gathering of cousins at another aunt and uncle's house before heading back to Ballyliffin.
It was a fantastic week altogether. I love the fact that I live so much closer to all my family members now, and get to see them so much more often. Having spent 18 years across the Atlantic Ocean, this is a huge deal for me!
